Yeah, after that completely failed to work on any computer I have access to for Northwestern, I'd really prefer not to have my chances at Texas riding on that platform.

They talked about it at their Law Day program, it sounds like they are going to do it on a very limited basis, and mostly for OOS students.

interesting. seems a little out of character for tx admissions, but i guess they are fully embrassing their t-14 status now.

Video interviews suck. Glad I didn't have to do this

Question about this app: I submitted it without a "Why UT" because 1) there was nowhere to put it on their app and 2) Reddit told me that they'll email out-of-state applicants asking for one. Went complete on Monday, have gotten no such email. Should I just email one to them? Out of state, 3.5/177

I email them in October when I submitted, and I was told I could just email my "Why Texas" essay after submission. I emailed it the next day, and received confirmation a couple of hours later, saying: "your essay has been attached to your file".

I wonder if they are using the interview request in place of the Why Texas for some OOS applicants

That would be my guess, tbh - I'm above both medians (WAY above on LSAT) and OOS so I was surprised they hadn't solicited a Why Texas yet.
