Was I supposed to be sent login information to get onto the Agora portal? I can't find it in previous emails from BC

Yes. I never received my Agora Portal info either. I emailed bclawfinaid@bc.edu and they resent me the info within a few hours!mrtux45 wrote:Was I supposed to be sent login information to get onto the Agora portal? I can't find it in previous emails from BC

Anyone know if the COL estimates are based on a particular neighborhood? I'm going up to Boston in a few weeks for ASD and plan on looking around at some apartments in Allston, Brookline, and a couple of the other suggested neighborhoods. Any idea as to whether any of those would come in below the $20,000ish COL estimate?

Good luck everyone! will probably come at 3am lol.
I'm also curious about COL for allston/brighton. Is 20k accurate, and does it include summer months? I can't see myself not living in those neighborhoods if I went to BC. Can you get by without a car in those neighborhoods?

I'm in the same boat.
But seriously, I just looked back at all my emails from BC regarding my application, and every one was sent at 4:46 am EST. Is this the case for you guys as well?

Most BC law students live in an area called Cleveland Circle and apparently a shuttle takes you to/from the law school campus from there. And it's near the T line that goes into downtown. With roommates, roughly $1000/per mo.circle.the.wagons wrote:Good luck everyone! will probably come at 3am lol.

The google says cleaveland circle is actually in brighton. Good to know, thanks.inevitable510 wrote:Most BC law students live in an area called Cleveland Circle and apparently a shuttle takes you to/from the law school campus from there. I just found somewhere online that BCs cost of living only applies for the school year (9 months) so multiply it by 1.33 to get more accurate.

When I looked at LSN, I noticed that my 163/3.75 that I had bigger scholarships than people with 165+ but lower than 3.5. I was thinking that GPA seemed a hair more important for scholarship (78k for me; 26k a year). I said that if my debt was less than 130k I would for sure be going but I feel right now I am closer to 150k. I am torn. Being at 75th for LSAT and above 75th for GPA makes me somewhat confident that I could snag biglaw but I really don't know. It is a tough call.jstans wrote:I feel like BC bases their offers mainly off LSAT, for the most part. I just checked LSN and my offer is well within the norm for my LSAT score, but my GPA is over 75th and that doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Wish it had more influence though.

Your GPA/LSAT don't have anything to do with your ability to get BL. Definitely don't go by that.cwl2017 wrote:When I looked at LSN, I noticed that my 163/3.75 that I had bigger scholarships than people with 165+ but lower than 3.5. +1 there's only a slight correlation between 1L grades and LSAT/GPAJGPGH wrote:+1ashrice13 wrote:Your GPA/LSAT don't have anything to do with your ability to get BL. I set a similar debt limit and I am right outside of the limit I set for myself. Makes my decision very tough since BC has become my number one choice but I don't want to go into too much debt. I also have a feeling our current administration will not be the most open to higher ed loan forgiveness programs.cwl2017 wrote:When I looked at LSN, I noticed that my 163/3.75 that I had bigger scholarships than people with 165+ but lower than 3.5. Oh believe me, I know. Which is why I am not going by that. If I was, then I would have said "I am in the top quarter of applicants and 40% get biglaw, sign me up for BC" but that isn't the case, so here I am, mulling a difficult decision.ashrice13 wrote:Your GPA/LSAT don't have anything to do with your ability to get BL. Anyone go to the February ASD that could provide a brief overview of the schedule? Just booked my travel and lodging, but I'm trying to get a feel for time on apartment shopping. If I do end up at BC, this will likely be my only chance to go to Boston before August so I therefore want to look around at some units/locations rather than make a blind choice based on Zillow.

9-3 or so; you'd have time in the evening if you set some up.jstans wrote:Anyone go to the February ASD that could provide a brief overview of the schedule?
