Did you write a Why UVA? If not, write one and send it in.

UR1 since 11/11 but I'm a pretty heavy splitter so who knows. I seem to be getting an extra long wait at most places, so I'm not the best person to base your timeline off of.

Do you feel your numbers are solid for UVA? I only ask because I'm trying to gauge if going UR2 vs interview had any correlation to viability.

GPA 25th<X<50th. LSAT 75th<X. Above average softs I reckon, and a Why Virginia essay.

I suspect I'm a viable candidate, but I also wonder if I'm not headed for WL in hopes of YP. I am surprised I haven't gotten an interview though. Who knows, they could be behind schedule due to ED2. I suppose I'll find out at some point!

I was admitted end of October (above average softs, though not unique by any stretch and a Why UVA), with GPA above 75 and LSAT right at median. I have heard zilch from UVA about scholarships, though I'm doing my damnedest to show interest. I'm not comfortable contacting financial aid at this point (I'll be submitting my need-based aid forms hopefully next week), and while I don't expect money by any stretch, UVA is effectively my top choice and I'd love to go there, but not at full-debt Any thoughts?

I know offers have been going out for a few weeks, but I suspect they're not very far into the process. I'd be more worried if I hadn't heard back by next month. There's still plenty of time left.

I'm in at all the other t10 schools minus the top three, but haven't gotten fin aid offers from anyone else yet. Should I try to negotiate with UVA now, or should I wait to hear from other schools? How open do you think they will be to negotiating?

I'd wait until early-March, that's when it seems like we'll hear from the rest of the peer schools... Though that's when everyone else will be waiting until, too!

Can I ask - did UVA's come via mail or email? Have you submitted your NA/FAFSA?

From what I understand different people review different apps, so your wait time might just be because of whoever has your file, meaning wait time is not indicative of anything.

They are open to it now, but it is definitely in your best interests to wait until you know all your options before approaching them.
