Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
Does anyone know how generous GULC is with scholarships? I got the scholarship info e-mail, and I'm supposed to tell them an amount that will "make a difference in my decision." Just trying to get a feel for what is feasible before I submit a number.
Thanks
Thanks

Did you solicit a scholarship or did the email come out of the blue?hellerskeller wrote:Does anyone know how generous GULC is with scholarships? I literally just read through all the posts on this thread. My Georgetown obsession is taking me to a whole new level of crazy.
It's now officially been a week since my group interview.. Anyone think it's worth checking the ASW site over the weekend as well? lol

Neither. I updated my file with the Feb LSAT score and told them to use it for scholarship purposes. Then I got the email.commandercup wrote:Did you solicit a scholarship or did the email come out of the blue?hellerskeller wrote:Does anyone know how generous GULC is with scholarships? Has anyone contacted GULC to express interest in merit aid without being contacted by them first? If so, what kind of response have you received?

I contacted Georgetown a few days ago to inquire about merit aid, and the next day received the form email with the questions about explaining where my thoughts are at about GULC and how much money would make a significant difference. The problem is, I have no way of knowing whether my solicitation precipitated the email or if it would have been coming anyway. But it didn't hurt!

I also sent in that sort of email and got the email in response a day or two later.NimChimpsky wrote:I contacted Georgetown a few days ago to inquire about merit aid, and the next day received the form email with the questions about explaining where my thoughts are at about GULC and how much money would make a significant difference. Today is my birthday and i would want nothing more than for Georgetown to bring me some good news. Santa, I know it's March but I've been a really good girl and this would be the perfect gift

Same situation here. How did you respond? My original email already basically included the response to what they asked, so I'm wondering if I should reiterate or if they'd be like "uhhh yeah we know dude, back off."Gray wrote:Yup +1 - Emailed about 2 weeks ago, got the email on Friday. Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
I used my ignorance as a sort of 'soft' initial inquiry. I just wrote a short note saying something like, "Hi, I was just admitted, and I would really like to be considered for any available merit aid, but I wasn't sure if I needed to fill out the yellow application for that, or if there was something else I needed to do...?"tuxedocat wrote:Same situation here. And then when I got the email, I got into the good stuff about why GULC and how much I wanted, etc.

Had a Group interview 2/26, in via ASW when I checked on Saturday... No word since then. So I'm still a little nervous about whether I've actually really heard or notek5dn wrote:anyone with a group interview last weekend hear back yet?

If you're in via ASW, then you're definitely in, so don't stress! I interviewed on the 28th so hopefully I'll hear back by tomorrow...congratulationsnjcn wrote:Had a Group interview 2/26, in via ASW when I checked on Saturday... No word since then.
