I just emailed fin aid.
Got a no, but that's how you do it.

Did they get back to your request pretty quick ?

There are also instructions re: scholarship appeals on the admitted students portal. It lets you know the specific person in fin aid to contact. I heard back in less than 24 hours, but I think I was part of a wave of admits who all heard back at the same time last week. Got a no--but still worth a shot!

I got a positive response. So some people got increases.

Law Day will be my first time visiting CA, so I'll have to see if I like it. I'm a gun collector, so I'm not sure if the weather or money is nice enough for me to give up one of the few things I like to spend money on.[/quote]

Unless you don't like the sun, the beach, great weather 99% of the year, hiking, shopping, and more, I think you'll like it. If you're worried about guns, plenty of gun enthusiasts in Cali lol. We just have rep of being more strict as a state but pretty sure you'll be fine. If that's the least of your concerns, I think you'll do great here. I should be a pitch man for USC/Cali schools lmao.

Debt honestly doesn't freak me out. Just motivates me to work hard so I can pay it off. I see it as an investment. Hoping to live healthy but frugal on trader joe's and limiting my drinks lol.

It's probably an age thing too. I'm a tad older so I have a better grasp on the implications of being in the red and less time to pay it off before I retire.
