Do law students still need high performance laptops, or is reliability more important? Forum

I've noticed that my computer usage has changed a lot since preparing for law school. I rarely do anything graphics intensive, but I spend hours reading case law, reviewing PDFs, writing papers, joining online classes, and switching between research databases and dozens of browser tabs.
Because of that, I'm looking for something that's reliable for everyday productivity rather than gaming or video editing.
While comparing different laptops, I noticed the Expeder D34C from Viper. It wasn't originally on my shortlist, but the specifications looked interesting enough to make me read a bit more about it. I haven't found many discussions from students who've actually used it, so I thought I'd ask here instead of relying on product pages.
