Transactional Public Interest Jobs

Does anyone know if there are entry level transactional jobs that'd qualify for PSLF?

There are transactional-type government jobs - not so much like M&A, but things like contracting and real estate; for instance, in transportation-related stuff, or environmental or licensing work. If you look on USAjobs for federal work, look for attorney advisor positions (as opposed to trial attorney positions). Some attorney advisor jobs do involve litigation-y work, but it narrows things down a little. One problem is that it can be hard getting into state or federal government jobs right out of school, though.

Yes, though I’d say most honors program jobs are litigation jobs, which is why I didn’t mention it.

HUD has transactional positions via honors. Other agencies have more general administrative law work for honors attorneys too, like DOT

I would think a civil legal aid organization would qualify. They handle contracts, landlord-tenant disputes, tax, and other civil cases that have some element of transactional law.

NYC has a lot of jobs that might interest you. A while back I almost accepted one with HPD, to do affordable housing development. A lot of finance, closings and transactional stuff, plus partnering with private developers. I also interviewed for a legal position for investment stuff, like investing the NYC pension funds. Bigger cities like NYC will have PSLF transactional stuff like that, but it's still very competitive.
