Anyone else apply? Just curious if they've started interviewing yet.

I applied. They sent out an email saying your "score" for the screening process, and whether or not you scored high enough to warrant an interview. If you did score high enough, the email said they will contact you to set one up, if necessary.
I am not sure what they did for the folks who did not score high enough.
Did you intern there at all?

Re: Clark County NV DA - Law Clerk
I applied around mid-September and didn't intern there this summer. I received the email that I scored high enough to be eligible for an interview, but I wasn't sure if that meant high enough to actually get an interview. I'm hoping they haven't started the interview process yet.

The interview process is just beginning. As in, they are contacting people to set them up. But interviews are not yet taking place. You are in good shape.

Thanks for the replies. Nothing else to do but wait I guess. I was surprised at my score too. I'm not sure what qualifies as low, but if I got it on a law school exam I wouldn't be happy.

Applied in early September, score low 70s. T14, moot court, resident, past work in government.

I wonder what kind of shape the Las Vegas economy is in these days. I drove through there about three months ago and saw plenty of empty storefront and weeds growing in parking lots. The Crash really hurt Clark County badly. On the other hand, housing is probably still pretty cheap.
Beautiful desert mountain ranges though. And about 40 miles northwest of the city I saw a featureless building with the word "Brothel" painted in huge, neat, block letters on its side. I shouldn't have been surprised but I was.

Well, NW of Las Vegas is a completely different county, Nye, where prostitution is legal. The economy here is very very slowly starting to bounce back because there is new construction going on, which is a sign of better times. Housing prices are going up again, but be careful, if prices increase anymore than they are then we'll head towards another bubble. And on the empty storefront and weeds, that entirely depends on the area of town you were driving through. The bad areas have always had that and, most likely, always will be like that.BeautifulSW wrote:I wonder what kind of shape the Las Vegas economy is in these days. Economy aside the most important thing here is networking so if you want to end up in Vegas, you have to be here and network. One thing about Nevada is the fact that we love Nevadans.
