When I submitted the ISF, I got a reply back within minutes saying they had received it. So fast I thought it was an auto reply. If you don’t get a receipt confirmation today, I’d definitely reach back out (although don’t attach it again, since they only said to submit one).

Did anyone who sent in their materials to EOIR receive a confirmation email? I did not, but did for CIV and wanted to make sure I sent to the right place.
I did not get a confirmation email from EOIR, and was wondering the same. This makes me feel better.

Nothing from EOIR in response to the submission of materials over here either.

Top 10%/ranked 19th at a TTTT regional school, law review, moot court, teaching fellow (tutor), research assistant, clinic, prior legal assistant experience before law school, fluent in German, judicial externship, SLIP + volunteer internship at DOJ. I applied to 1-FBI, 2-CRM (fellowship and tr/atty), 3-DEA (ALJ and OCC), Tax-CRM, NSD, and OIP. I got an interview at DEA-OCC. I received the email this afternoon.

I also applied to non-DOJ honors programs and had a screener with NSA (am still waiting to hear back from the others--FCC, FTC, DHS (non-ICE), Dep't of State).

As an aside, for those who mentioned no interview with tax or NSD, the informal components may choose to notify of interviews at a later date.
While tax is an informal component, I have already seen a post here with someone who got selected for TAX-CIV and I got selected for an interview with TAX-CRM, so it seems as if at least tax has sent interview requests out already.

Same. After I submitted my scheduling form, I received confirmation of its receipt within 24 hours. However, I submitted the other materials on the 5th and haven't hears anything back yet. I've been resisting the urge to inquire, and now I feel better knowing that I am not alone. lol

Not applying this cycle, but planning to apply in the future. For the Indian Country Fellowship, what kind of experience are they looking for? I did TFA on a reservation before 1L but haven't had too much of a focus on indigenous law since (mostly due to lack of resources). Would more general public service work combined w/ my rez experience be sufficient, or does anyone know?

It's always worth applying, but FWIW, the people I know who've got this fellowship have 1) been Native and 2) had quite a bit of indigenous law experience/involvement in school. But I think you can spin public service work generally.

OCIJ explicitly said they were going to do a check. One of my references told me that he filled out the form they send him via email.

Interview with OIL and EOIR-OGC.
I had my references for OIL-APP checked the the same day I interviewed (AM interview/references received late PM email). Hopefully that’s a good sign but maybe they check all references I haven’t heard anything from my references about OIL-DSC or EOIR-OGC.

Update from Deana on Avue:

"Dear Honors Program Candidates:

We are in the final week of formal HP interviews and SLIP interviews are likely winding down as well. I thought you might like to know what comes next in the hiring process.

DESIGNATING FINALISTS: We ask hiring offices to identify finalists by November 20th. Designation as a finalist means that a candidate is under consideration for an offer, and includes primary (first-round) offer candidates and alternates. Candidate may be identified as a finalist before November 20th if a hiring office completes its review early. Once components identify finalists, we clear those candidates for an offer and update the candidate's online status to "Finalist." The status screen will display the component code for offices that select the candidate as a finalist. If you are not identified as a finalist, your status will remain "Selected for Interview" until OARM confirms that components have identified all their finalists. At that point we will make an online status update and issue a "regrets" message. If you had multiple interviews, only the codes for the component(s) that identify you as a finalist will display online because we can display only one status at a time. This does not prevent another component from identifying you as a finalist: if that occurs, the code for that component will also display. I will post updates on the Community Board when a specific component posts its finalists for those who wish to monitor our progress.

REFERENCE CHECKS: The Department conducts reference checks prior to issuing offers. Some components start conducting reference checks while interviews are still under way; some conduct reference checks as part of their finalist selection process; others conduct reference checks after identifying finalists but before issuing offers. The timing is a matter of component discretion. If you need to provide updated contact information for your references, please reach out to the component contact listed on the Legal Careers website at www.justice.gov/legal-careers/component ... rn-program

OFFER PROCESS: The Department first issues a tentative (oral) offer, which may be followed up with an email confirmation. If you accept, then a formal written offer letter from OARM follows. Oral offers may be issued at any time after a candidate is cleared. Some components issue offers quickly; others review references and issue offers more slowly. It is not uncommon for offers to start going out before Thanksgiving, but typically the full hiring process does not conclude until February or early March.

RESPONSE DEADLINES/TIMING OF RESPONSES: Current DOJ policy is-
Offers to current law students will remain open for at least 14 days after the date issued. Current law students receiving an offer on or before December 1 may extend their response deadline up to an additional 14 days by contacting the issuing office via email to reaffirm their interest in the position and specify the date by which they will respond. Components may deem an offer declined if the candidate fails to respond by the established deadline (original deadline or extended deadline, as appropriate).

Honors Program offers to law school graduates will remain open for at least two weeks after the date the offer was issued.

Components have the discretion to extend the response period; if you need additional time, you may request it.

It is inappropriate for hiring offices to curtail the response period, issue exploding offers, or require candidates to respond to hypothetical offers such as "we would be inclined to issue you an offer provided you tell us in advance that you will accept it if we do." Please contact OARM at AskOARM@usdoj.gov if you have concerns.

Good luck, all. "
