FWIW I have a contact at LAS who said "early offers" would be made this year, but if posters heard the opposite directly from Tina then the latter is probably more likely.

Accepted an offer with the Contra Costa PD for the graduate clerkship last week.
I would really appreciate if anyone with insider knowledge about the program and/or CoCo's typical hiring practices (after the program) could share some info or let me PM them.

Anybody know why this specific year's PD thread seems to have disappeared?

Re: 3L Public Defender Applications
I think whoever manages the threads combined the individual year thread with this one. Also, I'm a previous poster who was I think one of the last people screened for Maryland in late November. I just had my panel scheduled, so I'd imagine most of the invites have gone out at this point.

Re: 3L Public Defender Applications
I applied for the Massachusetts pd (CPCS), but it was weird, it wasn't like a class application, it was just a district court trial attorney app (is that right???). also, to the Maryland poster above, I have a panel interview on thursday -- what was it like? any hypos? I've heard no, but wanted to double check...

Weird. I have nothing from either.Anonymous User wrote:Crap. NH. Email ding. Philly Email ding too.
And my NH panel was an unmitigated disaster, so I would think it's only a matter of time.

i think it went well, but who knows? no hypos whatsoever, they were pretty non-adversarial, just general why do you want to be a pd? and other similar questions. good luck to everyone doing the panel interviews! hopefully we will hear back soon...

Re: 3L Public Defender Applications
that's awesome! good luck! did they indicate how they would be placing people in terms of districts? i heard that whoever was in your hiring interview is where they are thinking about placing you, but I don't know if they are still doing it that way.Anonymous User wrote:i think it went well, but who knows? no hypos whatsoever, they were pretty non-adversarial, just general why do you want to be a pd? and other similar questions. good luck to everyone doing the panel interviews! hopefully we will hear back soon...
