EOIR has checked my references as well. Anyone know if they do this for all candidates or only potential finalist candidates?

References checked by ATR today. Also, saw this post by Deana in 2019 in the application portal:

"REFERENCE CHECKS: The Department conducts reference checks prior to issuing offers. Some components start conducting reference checks while interviews are still under way; some conduct reference checks as part of their finalist selection process; others conduct reference checks after identifying finalists but before issuing offers. The timing is a matter of component discretion. If you need to provide updated contact information for your references, please reach out to the component contact listed on the Legal Careers website at www.justice.gov/legal-careers/component ... rn-program"

CRM has contacted references, unsure about the other divisions I interviewed with. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if all interviewees have their references checked, or just those candidates that the office is interested in?

My references reached out and told me they’d been contacted by a DOJ component. DOJ won’t tell you they’re checking your references, but you could always ask your references if they’ve heard anything.

I had an interview very early on with ATR DC and just today had a reference checked. I'm guessing there's a lot of variation?
