has anyone who was accepted recently heard back about $$? or can anyone give me a sense of turnaround time between submitting FinAid info and receiving award?

They were really fast with mine. I submitted over the weekend and I got a response with their (incredibly generous!) offer earlier today.

I assume they might be a little busy with the admitted student stuff going on now, so maybe it'll take a little longer, but I'm not sure.

What did you think of ASW?

i loved it! i did Yale and Harvard ASWs back-to-back (along with a decent chunk of the group at Yale ASW), and I thought that Yale did a great job of selling their particular strengths. it really felt like a remarkable institution and the people (professors, students, admits) were all incredible and mostly down-to-earth. there was a real sense of community and intellectual curiosity there that i didn't really feel at Harvard.

Agreed on both parts. Now to convince my parents that, in actuality, Y > H.

yeah, i anticipate spending the next 5-10 years explaining to my parents why i turned down harvard law.

Is everyone set on housing? I've never dealt with housing in a similar area before and unsure of the typical timeline.

i haven't figured out housing yet, been poking around craigslist and found some stuff but most leases start June 1 at latest. trying to avoid paying for two apartments this summer...

Which neighborhood are you focusing your search? I'm also concerned it might be difficult to find subletters for the summers when I'll (hopefully) not be in New Haven so I thought maybe I should just swallow the higher cost and sign an apartment in one of the more popular buildings near the university.

I'm not looking in specific neighborhoods so much as general proximity and cheap rent. Most good options I've found are in Dixwell/Dwight, sort of North-Northwest of YLS

I submitted my deferral request a few weeks ago and received the approval confirmation on Monday.

I committed officially on Saturday night over email after ASW and got my email approval on Tuesday morning
