You should also look into David Mitchell's books like The Bone Clocks, Cloud Atlas, and Number9dream.

I loved David Mitchell until I read The Bone Clocks. Now I only really like him.

Haha, that's understandable. It wasn't my favorite novel, but I am still reeling from that gut punch of an ending.

See, to be perfectly honest, the ending was one of my least favorite parts. I like what happened in terms of the characters, but I found the premise for the last section pretty annoying so I couldn't really enjoy it.
