Hey guys, I'm trying to plan a visit for admitted students weekend. Does anyone know of any hotels that are $100 or less? Or are most of you taking up the offer to stay with a current student?

I think they subsidize the hotels somewhat, but im cheap so im just staying with a friend

There's literally nowhere in the city or an accessible suburb that will market a rate that low. Maybe Hotwire or something could get you close with a blind rate and no standards though. I'd stay w/ a student.

If you really want, there are students on Airbnb that will rent you a room in their place for as low as $30 a day. A lot of options are near the law school. But I would advise to use your judgement and be aware of the area the apartment is in, and the person, and the reviews, etc....

Staying with a student would (presumably) be safer and cheaper since it's free.

FWIW Loop hotels are very vulnerable to Pricelining (in my experience), and you can get a three star for $75 a night if you play your cards right. But then you have to take Metra for 40 minutes to get to UChicago. Staying with students seems like a good deal.

(srsly, tho, lived in London for a summer and had some of the best food in my life, much of it from pubs.)
