Re: Columbia Class of 2018
I spoke to them today to confirm they had everything and they told me I'd be hearing from them this week. I didn't ask email or snail mail but considering it was already 4:30 pm on a Wednesday when I called, I'd think it'd be pretty hard for them to confidently say this week if it were coming by snail mail

I called today to check if they have all of my materials and I was told that they will notify me the financial aid decision via email.

Did they say when? (i.e. today or tomorrow)zhongxiaozhui wrote:I called today to check if they have all of my materials and I was told that they will notify me the financial aid decision via email.

Re: Columbia Class of 2018
Weird that they have been giving out different information over the phone. I called them this afternoon, and they said that my application was in its final stage and that I should hear from them soon (though she wouldn't give me an estimated wait time). But when I asked how I would be notified, all she said was that they usually send the award information through regular mail.goldenbear92 wrote:Did they say when? They are intentionally spreading conflicting stories to throw us off, and high fiving everyone in the office every time they hang up.

Hey, is anyone attending the 4/20 "Mondays at Columbia" event? I plan to fly in early Sunday so I can hang out in NYC for a day prior, so I'll need a hotel room. I was wondering if anyone has looked around for a decent deal that is relatively close to campus.

I imagine this to be true of pretty much every school I'm waiting on.ub3r wrote:They are intentionally spreading conflicting stories to throw us off, and high fiving everyone in the office every time they hang up.

Re: Columbia Class of 2018
Got financial aid info by mail. No money offered.
They mailed the letter on the 7th, I live in the NY metro so I probably got it faster than most.
2015-2016 Costs:
Tuition: $60,624
Fees: $4,931 (they grouped health insurance in with this, I think (hope so!), so adjusting for that, it is $2,423)
Transcript Fee: $105
Room & Board: $17,400
Books: $1,570
Personal Expenses: $3,900
Total = $88,530 ($86,002 w/o health insurance)
Compared to this year:
Tuition: $58,292 (+$2,332)
Fees: $4,490 ($+441) ($1982 w/o insurance, +$441)
Transcript Fee: $105 (+$0)
Room & Board: $17,400 (+$0)
Books: $1,568 (+$2)
Personal Expenses $3,900 (+$0)
Total = $85,755 ($83,247 w/o health insurance)

Perhaps yours was mailed since you're local? Gonna call them up tomorrow if I don't hear back.JFO1833 wrote:Got financial aid info by mail. No money offered.

I'm going to give them until Monday, and I'm (also?) in California.goldenbear92 wrote:Perhaps yours was mailed since you're local? Gonna call them up tomorrow if I don't hear back.
Edit: I mean, I won't start worrying until Monday. I probably won't be calling them or anything because it'll get here when it gets here. And even when it gets here, it probably won't be anything.

That logic tho xD it's already hella late, don't get why they just e-mail; prob cheaper/free too.ub3r wrote:I'm going to give them until Monday, and I'm (also?) in California.goldenbear92 wrote:Perhaps yours was mailed since you're local? Gonna call them up tomorrow if I don't hear back.

I'm assuming it's because all Butlers are hand delivered by a butler, and all Hamiltons are hand delivered by a butler dressed as Alexander Hamilton (twice as good).
Can any recipients confirm/deny?
