There's also a ton of really good stuff in the burbs, which is often also reasonably priced. My favourite is this Chinese place called Full Key, in Wheaton. Go!

e: oh and an Italian place in Columbia heights called Maple. They have $4 wine happy hours and the wine is always really good. Also their paninis are amazing

go to el centro in georgetown for the $5 happy hour margaritas. best marg in town, and probably best salsa. 2 margs and you are drunk, 3 you need a wheelchair.

Selection isn't varied enough for me. Just a personal taste, obviously not enough locals agree to diversify.

Additionally the population isn't even high enough to support a local late (or 24/7) diner.
