Top Law Schools

This is a thread just to vent about the bar and how it is affecting and/or ruining your life. Maybe everyone has a great support system where you can get all your venting out, but maybe some of you don't. And its a stressful time, IMO. Either way all support, no judgment, so if you feel the need to be "that guy" with condescending advice and judgments it would be great if you could take that elsewhere.

and I'll start it out -- I now have the worst case of acne known to mankind. Stress and drinking a million diet cokes to stay awake have taken their toll. It's not even the little acne that can be cleared up with some ProActive, its the deep, disgusting crap that requires an RX and months with the dermatologist.

If I had thought so, I wouldn't have started it. IMO, other threads are rife with people who want to give "helpful advice". I'm going to assume thats because they think people are asking for, soliciting, or hoping for their advice. This thread is just for venting and that way no one is confused, and they can save their advice for those that are seeking it out.

Why don't you just drop it? If the two of you ruin another thread with your arguments I'm going to remove this site from my bookmarks list.

Anywho..... My goal is to focus on living life and semi-pretend like the bar exam is just a unicorn until it gets closer to the results being released. I had my first bar exam nightmare. I had a dream that their was a second MBE day that I didn't know about and I missed it! Omgee!
I hope and pray that I never have to take another bar exam. It sucks to work so hard for something and still not know what the results may be.

LOL - the bar exam as a unicorn, I like it!

I can't even imagine having that type of nightmare -- I had visions/dreams about mistakenly waking up at 8:45 in the morning and being super late. I ended up sleeping with the lights on and setting my alarm clock for 5:30 am.

A part of me feels like the bar exam is extremely hyped up. Either I knew the shit or I didn't . It's the studying that drains you mentally and emotionally. A lot of law schools don't talk about life post-bar exam. A lot of students have all sorts of emotional highs and lows and feel nuts because of it. I just think law schools should put some effort into helping students adjust to life after the bar exam.

I thought the ventilation was pretty good at my bar location. No complaints here.

Agree - the process is really tough. I never thought about post bar exam life, I mean you're done with school, you spent two months studying at a frenetic pace. Its almost like you're going at 100 mph and then down to 0. It would be a good idea for law schools to adopt some sort of program to help students adjust. Some people that I've spoken to after the bar exam almost seem aimless -- for so long law school/bar prep was the centerpiece of their lives and they had a defined purpose, and now they don't exactly have that.

LOL, we actually had too much ventilation, it was freezing in that room!

Our room was freezing (I was dressed for it though), but San Antonio had their AC croak during the PM MBE.

Was in Sac and it felt like 60 degrees in the Convention Center. People "wised up" by Day 3 and were wearing pants and hoodies, but they decided to turn off the air for the Morning session on Thursday which meant it was stuffy and uncomfortable (plus pants). doh

lol...me too. I come from tropical people, so I know I get cold easily and I wore a comfortable and warm velour tracksuit each day. i cannot begin to imagine taking an exam in Texas heat with absolutely no a/c Talk about making a miserable situation even worse!

I missed my grandfather's funeral because of the bar exam. It's stuff like this that has me questioning whether this career is worth it.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Not that this compares but my dog died two weeks before the bar exam. You put your life on hold for two months to study for one test, then once it's over you have to deal with the shit you put on hold. I'm sure your grandfather is very proud of you for pushing through no matter what the results are. And I agree. Studying for the bar exam definitely makes you think about how bad you want it or if you really want it at all.
