Top Law Schools

So if someone were to participate in a Capitol Hill Sit In and risk arrest. Obviously report it to the law schools, but i think schools won't care much. But I'm concerned for law firms and clerkships. Would law firms frown upon this? And judges? Part of me wants to be committed to the cause, but I also want to be able to work at a top firm and clerk.

Unless you're going to do civic activism as your career or are at a public service agency, I would just avoid this. There are countless ways to have a greater impact doing pro bono at a big law firm/law school and after you leave firm life if you want. The people who are arrested often have lawyers waiting for them -- presumably those lawyers also believe in their cause but everyone recognizes they're more valuable as the lawyer than as an additional arrestee.

But yeah, OP, if you want to work for a firm, probably don't get arrested. If you wanted to work for the ACLU, it might be a badge of honor, but that's a different case.

Likely not worth it

I'd say do it, but what do I know. I don't want to work for biglaw or anywhere that wouldn't hire me because I'd been arrested protesting. It's kind of sad to me but I guess the conservative hivemind will say don't risk it.
