Most people at least know of TLS, and many lurk to varying degrees. We megaposters are still a rare breed. I'm pretty sure everybody knows Reg, but that's his own fault

Pretty much same here. I LOVED the visit and it cleared up any concerns about the over competitiveness I had heard about (and those big law placement statistics though)orangec90 wrote:LOVED my weekend! Don't know where the competitive rep comes from - every student I met was great. And the faculty wow.
Anyone else?

Same! Really loved the ASW! I'm hoping they pull through with my scholarship reconsideration because I'd really love to attend.c0llegeStUd3nt wrote:Pretty much same here. Didn't get to as much as the ASW as I would have liked, but I did like what little I saw.
Chicago is a definite possibility for me--especially given current offers

Is anyone thinking about living in the Shoreland?

The Shoreland was absolutely gorgeous. And if you split a cheaper 2B2B, it's not unreasonably expensive. The only reservation I have is that Regents is more conducive to socializing/studying with other 1Ls.

Loved the outside of the building and the lobby. Underwhelmed by the gym (a lot better at Regents IMO) and I like that Regents has grocery store/coffee shop. If I enroll, I think I would go with Regents just because there's more at my disposal in the event that I am too miserably cold to brave the outdoors...although I found the Shining-esque vibe of Shoreland others referred to as kind of awesome.

Word of warning. DO NOT buy perishable food from the Regents market. I'm even nervous when I have to buy shit that can't go bad. It's not a very well run establishment.

Hey guys,
It's been fun, but there will be at least one Rubenstein coming to somebody else in the near future as I officially withdrew today. Best of luck to all of you! Chicago will be awesome and it was a super tough decision for me to make. ETA: There's another spot in Doctoroff now too, if that was a zero sum game.
I hope it goes to another TLSer.

Regulus does but I don't think there are more than a couple of other law students there currently.MoMettaMonk wrote:Also wondering this.HarvardHopeful wrote:Is anyone thinking about living in the Shoreland?

I think I'm going to live there (Shoreland). It is only the 2nd year its been open and I'm hoping that quite a few 0Ls were impressed by the tour and will opt to live there next year. The in-Unit washer and dryer and brand new kitchens won me over.

Hey everyone, congrats on your accomplishments this cycle! Once you've decided on a school, make your way over to the TLS Class of 2017 thread http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 8&t=227952 to let everyone know where you're going.

Anything else particularly impress you about Shoreland (I didn't make it to the tour)? I really like the look of the place, but I haven't convince myself that it is worth the extra $ and loss of Regent's social benefits.HarvardHopeful wrote:I think I'm going to live there (Shoreland). Just consider Regents Mart of whatever it's called like a gas station convenience store and you'll have the right idea, 0Ls.Regulus wrote:the grocery store (although it is really expensive so I rarely shopped there, and the produce is super shady)
You missed a golden opportunity to be an obnoxious law student here. But professor, is a tricycle really a vehicle? Where do you draw the line???Regulus wrote:there is a $35/month pet fee for any kind of pet (maybe not turltles/goldfish/etc., but you get the point)

People need to learn to move to the back of the 171. The back door is not the back.Crowing wrote:Noooo don't crowd my 171HarvardHopeful wrote:I think I'm going to live there (Shoreland). I think there have been 2 days that I didn't get a seat this year, and I was still lucky on those shitcan weather errybody riding the bus + delays days just to get on the bus at all.

Re: Chicago Law Class of 2017
Whenever I'm running late I have to make a gamble on whether to walk and be a few minutes late for class, or wait for the bus. If I wait and get it I'll be on time, but if people are crowding the front the bus driver will just drive straight past me and I'll be even later. It's a struggle.Crowing wrote:Your stop is on 55th?midwest17 wrote:People need to learn to move to the back of the 171.
