Dunno if this has been reported by anyone yet, but if you had a merit award and retook the Feb LSAT, Michigan may have upped your scholarship if you increased your score. I just checked the ASW for the first time in about a month and my award was increased, so take a look if you retook. Totally unsolicited by the way if anyone was wondering.

Are you a summer starter? If so, they sent out some correspondence indicating that the award would change to reflect the summer term, such that your award out there should be showing 50% higher than it initially was. (e.g. $20k becomes $30k).bryanjbay12 wrote:Dunno if this has been reported by anyone yet, but if you had a merit award and retook the Feb LSAT, Michigan may have upped your scholarship if you increased your score. Ah, that works; figured I'd mention it just in case. In that event, congrats!bryanjbay12 wrote:Nope, I'm a fall starter.Serett wrote:Are you a summer starter? Doing a quick plug, may be looking to sublet an apartment this summer, not a bad walk from campus, affordable, and much nicer than most places around campus. HMU if you are interested, or want any advice or unbiased information about Michigan.

Re: Michigan Class of 2017
Does anyone know when the deadline is to respond to scholarship offers? I have the date of April 1 stuck in my head, but re-read my letter and didn't see any deadline on it.
Is this a RC fail on my part?

It's just the regular response deadline of April 30th.andapieceoftoast wrote:Does anyone know when the deadline is to respond to scholarship offers? I have the date of April 1 stuck in my head, but re-read my letter and didn't see any deadline on it.

I just checked my award info letter and all that appears is:
Fed. Unsub. Loan 20,500.
Does that mean I'm getting $0 aid?
ETA: grammar

Not necessarily. My award came several days after my Fed. Unsub. Loan showed up.Dr.Zer0 wrote:I just checked my award info letter and all that appears is:

Whoop, Stafford loan just showed up. FWIW as far as I can tell there is no rhyme or reason to when these appear.

So this is probably a really dumb question and I don't know how any of this financial aid stuff works.....if I received merit aid and was informed that I'm no longer eligible to receive need-based aid, does this mean no loans?

Loans are different, this just excludes you from need-based grants. Which from what we can tell are nearly impossible to qualify for anyway.yarrow wrote:So this is probably a really dumb question and I don't know how any of this financial aid stuff works.....if I received merit aid and was informed that I'm no longer eligible to receive need-based aid, does this mean no loans?

Re: Michigan Class of 2017
Hey guys, congratulations on your admission to Michigan. For those of you looking for housing, consider the following:
We live in a nice 2BR that's already furnished and stocked with everything you need. Location is Packard & Hill, and the walk to the law school is 3 minutes (and only 2 if you're late to class). 5 minutes to the rest of UofM central campus.
Things offered? A.C., laundry on site, wireless, fully furnished rooms (1 room has a full bed!) and stocked kitchen. And if you're a law student, we'll give you all the help and outlines you need.
Two rooms are available, each for $499. Also can come and see the place if you'd like. Yes. Oh, and if you'd like parking, it's for a little extra but available. Dates are May15-August31. Dates and accompanying price are negotiable.
Here's the craigslist link w/ photos:
