but seems like a nightmare to cart around manhattan

I did backpack for UG, messenger for grad school, and I'm back to BP. It's no contest if heavy shit is involved. This isn't even a debate.

ETA - I hope it's clear that I'm not referring to rollerbags

those are for frequent business travelers and those with ambiguous housing situations

my bag (as seen on last page) is a good 1 2
a little pricey
but solidly waterproof
i've held it over my head a few times during downpours when i'm caught w/o an umbrella
and my laptop has remain dry and happy inside every time

Yeah mine was a lil pricey too but Northface is good shit, inflated yes, but not just sizzle sans steak. First new backpack in such a long time that I felt like splurging.

Backpack is def my preference over messenger too, not even close. Gotta keep going with it until my big boy job with a messenger or briefcase type thing.

I love all the zippers btw

I'm just gonna do what one of my friends did in UG. Just put a piece of paper in his pocket and bring a pencil to class.

Despite being made fun of a bit for this idea in the lounge, i am still considering typing notes on a keyboard attached to my mini ipad as opposed to a laptop. then for exams and serious time, i would bring my laptop. just trying to think about weight/space of what i need to carry. not very interested in lockers as i might want to read/use one of my books and not happen to have brought it home.
