Non-feeder SDNY/2d Cir. clerkship — out of the running for SCOTUS?

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Jun 30, 2026 8:07 am

I just applied for clerkships and was thankfully able to secure an SDNY/2d Cir. combo, which I'm incredibly excited about.

The clerkships are not with the established feeders on those courts — both judges are highly respected but have fed rarely over the last 15 years. Does this put me out of the running for SCOTUS/Bristow/etc.? Assume HYS with top grades and other common characteristics.
