There were threads for every year up until this year, so I thought I'd start one. Are people seeing movement?

Nothing for me in Chicago but other clerks with better credentials and who started earlier have gotten and accepted offers.

Seen a couple posts online (not on TLS) speculating that the movement of 1L hiring for summer associate positions to now has resulted in post-clerkship hiring being pushed to the spring. Anyone have insight into this? Trying to gauge if I am being ghosted or if firms are just occupied with other stuff right now and don’t have time to look at my inquiries/applications.

I am a two-time district court clerk with a few years of big law experience pre-clerkships, and I have only had substantive communication with one firm so far (have reached out to 10 or so).

Another data-point for posterity.

T25, summa, rural D.Ct. in NE. Applied in November, Interviews at Kirkland/Munger/Jenner/DPW/PH. Accepted offer at one in April. From discussions around the court-house seems like its been a rough cycle a lot of people returning to their firms.

Isn't lateral hiring booming right now? Or supposed to be?
