How hard to crack is DDC/EDVA Alexandria?

Rising 3L at HYS with (based on 2 yrs of grades) probably around top 1/3 grades (bad 1L yr and really good 2L yr). I have a run of the mill COA lined up for after graduation but I want to get a district court clerkship in there as well. So wondering about chances at DDC and EDVA.
I blanketed both and have yet to hear anything at all so wondering if I overestimated my likelihood of getting a bite.

Re: EDVA - Alexandria
My understanding is that the earliest mover is Ellis, who doesn't consider applications until October, but who is actually already booked up for 2016-17 anyway. I know people clerking for Brinkema who didn't interview until later in the fall. So, it might not be that you underestimated yourself as much as they just aren't moving yet.

My understanding is that Ellis generally takes the UVA applicant with the highest grades, and probably someone else. Ellis is very grade selective.

General chances? Decent but not great. When it comes to DDC/EDVA Alexandria, you're not just competing with HYS types with better grades than you; you're also competing with all the top 10% UVA/GULC kids. You're competitive but there's a lot of competition. I think it's considerably easier for a HYS student around top-third to get a flyover COA gig. DDC is tougher. You'll likely need a recommender with a connection to a judge.
