Value of Flyover Clerkship

I'll be starting at a V10 firm in a major market in the fall, and I'm considering applying for a flyover clerkship the following year (due to some personal ties to the region), with the intention of moving back into a major or secondary market following the clerkship. Is that feasible? Or will the clerkship in a flyover district kill chances of moving back into big law in a major market/secondary market (at the firm I'm leaving as well as new firms)?
From TLSers, it seems that the post-clerkship employment world is bleak, so I'm trying to figure out if it's a "clerkships in major markets/market where you want to work or stay put" type of a situation.
