Hi board. I'm currently a 2nd year at a V5 in NYC. Im hoping to go to a USAO in NYC or possibly DOJ in the coming years. I just hada n interview with a d ct in DC and have one scheduled in the EDNY next week. Ik now that DDC is arguably the second most prestigious d ct in the country whereas EDNYis further down the list. Assuming i want to stay up here, would it generally be best to go with a district like EDNY or DNJ, or is DDC that much more impressive?

The best district to clerk in for USAO is the district in which you want to be an AUSA. That said, I really think that DDC is only super prestigious in the minds of law students. I would put NDCA, CDCA, EDVA, EDNY, and NDIL on par, if not ahead of DDC. Those districts all have far more varied and interesting dockets than DDC. And, it should go without saying, that the value of any of these clerkships is heavily dependent on the judge.
