Top Law Schools

Over the past few weeks I've been seeing a lot of top candidates at top schools posting their transfer successes and am truly excited for all of you. However, I wanted to create a thread that specifically caters to those of us who aren't in "top" law schools per se.

I'm calling all T3 or T4 students who are trying to bump up in the rankings to congregate here and share your transfer results. I'm primarily concerned with transferring to T14 schools (but feel free to discuss anything outside the T14) since this seems to be the most epic leap for us TTT(T)ers.

I'll start by sharing my stats. I am T1% at a T3 (#1, 2, or 3). I blanketed the T14 with applications and have already been admitted to GULC EA but have yet to hear back from the other T14s. So far, it seems like HYSCCN have only accepted T20-60 candidates. I am hoping this only means that they are waiting to review T3/4 applications until later in July until they have reviewed all T1/2 candidates? (any thoughts on this).

Any T3/T4ers out there???

T3, top 2-3% ... originally applied to GULC (EA), Michigan, UVA, Northwestern, and UPenn (was also going to apply to CLS and NYU, but accepted a seat before submitting the apps).

Was accepted at GULC (RD) and Michigan, I am attending Michigan (being from the midwest) and withdrew all other apps. Very excited to be a Wolverine! And a big congrats to all successful transferees!!

T4, Top 7-9% applied to NU. Yea, I know....

has HYSCCN accepted any T3/4 students?

t4 top 3% --> Berkeley

Applied to a bunch of schools but withdrew before hearing back because of berkeley acceptance. Also did not complete the NYU and CLS apps but sent them all of my transcripts and UG stuff.

T4, 3%, booked LRW, Torts, Prop, Con Law.

Dinged at Michigan. Still waiting on Berkeley. The factors I used to choose schools probably aren't helpful to anyone else - focused on enviro law, areas to which I had ties, and schools that had loan repayment assistance (particularly where they would extend it to clerks ), so I didn't really take ranking into account (still waiting on a few other schools, they rank anywhere from mid T1 to T3).

can someone confirm if CCN accepts a few T3/T4 students each year? i really believed i had a somewhat "decent" shot if they do in fact accept T3 students... but i havent seen any T3/4 acceptances at all yet! this is making me really worrried

It's tough to get in if you are T4 for sure. I think it's important to remember that we are in really good shape at our schools if we don't transfer. I know I am in the city that I want to work in already so it's not the end of the world. Definitely pick up the personal networking though! I already have a lunch meeting w/ a Big Law attorney-alumni so I'm determined to not let my school determine my destiny.

PS Transfer cycle isn't over yet, fingers still crossed!

Michigan T3, approx. Top 1-2% (school doesn't rank until the fall).

In at Michigan as of 6/30. Applied to GULC, Berk, Columbia, Penn, NYU, Duke, NW, UCLA. Withdrew all apps except for Columbia.

T2% at a T4, complete at Columbia and NYU (also applied to Fordham, Cardozo and BLS). I've resigned myself to the fact that Columbia systematically goes through T1/T2 applicants before making offers to T3/T4.

I've seen several posts from previous years (here and on yahooapps) of T3/T4 students with similar numbers who transfer into Columbia. However, it seems that most/all of them were at schools here in NY (NYLS and Touro).

T-2% at T4 in Chicago. 3 years WE. Research Assistant in the Spring, LR.

In at GULC EA. Looking like I'll be out at NU. Pretty fired up about the T4 - T14 jump.

I'm in the same boat as you moak...#1 T4 in Chicago. 3 years WE. LR, externship, full-ride, and just waiting for my rejection from NU today/tmrw.

Any other T4's out there with successful/unsuccessful results???

Should hear from Stanford next week, I hope. If not, then rolling the dice to apply at Stanford was a lot of fun.

Stanford hasn't announced any decisions. Based on last year's acceptances, they should start calling on Monday.
