Haha, actually been living outside Iowa for about six years now. (Went to UG in Chicago and now live in Florida). But the Midwest snobbery takes a long time to die.excelsiorcaelo wrote:I can see you jonesing for corn in a couple months right now:IowaGirl wrote: A true Iowan would never eat east coast corn.

Let's just say I have very strong opinions about what states are and are not part of the Midwest.excelsiorcaelo wrote:LMAO @ "Midwest snobbery"IowaGirl wrote:Haha, actually been living outside Iowa for about six years now. You say "underachieving." We say "too busy having fun to gun."excelsiorcaelo wrote:Finally!

Seriosuly though, at the end of this year, I hope some of us can get together and come up with "mottos" for each section. I think it'd be fun.

This was discussed while I was sleeping (I'm on Asia time), but I will be in town August 7 and would definitely like to meet up with anyone who is in town as well. One thought, I know there is a pub (Thirsty Scholar) across the street from my apartment, which is 5 min from campus...

Just had a fine time at the HLS 2012 NYC get together. Fine time. Now know a whole bunch more of our classmates, not from TLS. Treple too.

I would have loved to come, but I'll be at the get together tomorrow. I'm already borderline burnt out by train-to-NYC-and-back, so doing it two nights in a row would have been a bit much.excelsiorcaelo wrote:Just had a fine time at the HLS 2012 NYC get together. I also assume a lot of the people at today's gathering will show up tomorrow?

That sounds really good. However, given what you are going to be doing tonight, may not have been the wisest choice under heaven...excelsiorcaelo wrote:Ate Phaal curry for lunch today. Could have been a mistake.

I'm already in town and living just a few doors down from the Scholar. It's a pretty good bar. We're in a very good location, just a few minutes walk from Inman Square (some cooler bars) and Union Square (less college-y). Also less than 10 minutes away is R.F. O'Sullivans: Best Burgers in Boston. I think you'll find the walk to campus a little longer than 5 minutes though, I clock it at more like 12, but it's a very fast bike ride.
PM me if you want to get together sometime, I'll be around!

Very nice! I got my apartment without seeing it (sent my mom and sister...they rock). Also, I was thinking about that section “glitch” this week...I was originally going to be a class of 2011-er, but then deferred, and the same “glitch” about people getting their schedules happened last year. Hmm...

Were their sections the same as they thought last year, do you know?AZJenna wrote:
