I didn't believe I asked if anyone in this thread was an asshole. This is a thread about Harvard Law's class of 2012, How dare I make comments about what I'm doing and seeing if anyone else is doing. I'm so sorry I don't know the proper rules of discussion about the things that we will all be doing at Harvard next year.

On a lighter note, I was really impressed with the ls gym considering that it's just for us. I was expecting something smaller and older. The fact that it's a 30 second jog from most places on campus is going to be crucial for those hard-to-motivate winter workouts

Are you referring to Hemenway Gymnasium? Actually Hemenway belongs to Harvard University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS). So it is definitely not "just for us". Law school affiliates get to use it for free because (purely my speculations here) the law school helped pay for the gym's renovation in 2005 .

Hemenway is a recreational fitness facility located in Harvard's North Yard, across Massachusetts Avenue from Cambridge Common. An FAS building near Harvard Yard housing and adjacent to Harvard Law School (HLS), Hemenway is used heavily by Harvard College freshmen, science students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and HLS students, faculty, and staff.

But I don't know what to wear? A suit? Slacks and a button down? Neither?

I found a few pictures, but none seem to include students.

not sure if this helps, but when I am completely unsure on how people will dress, I try to think of it as in which situation would I be more uncomfortable:

everyone wearing a suit and me wearing slacks and a button down

OR

everyone wearing slacks/button down/polo and me wearing a suit

I usually find the second more bothersome, so tend to go with the business casual route (sometimes throw on a tie)

Also, to answer conn09's (original) question, I'm in North (third floor), and I applied for a locker a couple of days ago. Not sure I'll end up with one, though.

Now, I won't be going to this so I didn't give the dress code much thought, but I wouldn't have thought the women in this thread would have had a harder time figuring out what to wear.

Another thought: you could just e-mail the organizer and ask what the dress code is....
