Should I internal transfer? (NYU undergrad) Forum

Hi TLS people! I am a junior at NYU currently majoring in education in NYU Steinhardt. I had previously been a history major in NYU CAS, only transferring to the education program before last semester (this is my second semester with the education program). Through my two semesters here, I found that the education program at NYU is really bad (could elaborate if anyone is interested), and I wanted to become a lawyer instead of educator. Should I transfer back to the history program where consistent GPA is harder to get, or stay an education major just for the GPA?

If switching to history would make your GPA worse, then it's a bad prelaw move, and unless you have something in mind for history then I doubt it would be a huge positive for anything besides law to boot.

Objectively, get the higher GPA, that's what law schools care about.
However, subjectively, I'd encourage you to study something you enjoy, as I think it usually (not always) means you'll do better.

This is the correct response in my opinion.

(Hard to understand why one would pay for NYU undergrad to study education or history.)
