So far, the only T14 fee waiver I received is from Virginia.

I asked for, and got rejected (via a canned email), for fee waivers from Columbia, Michigan, and Penn. My numbers are in my profile.

Hahahaha, I would be offended except that's exactly the kind of thing I'm paranoid I did in my application, and I don't want bad karma. So, Northeastern and I are hypothetical typo chums for the time being.

No worries! They fixed. Just received this e-mailed update:

"You may have received a prior similar message in error. Our mail system erroneously sent out an incomplete email. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your attention."

Might have already been mentioned but

Loyola Los Angeles (LMU) sent me an email inviting me to their booth at my UG's grad school fair. The email said that if I showed up, they would give me a fee waiver code.

I sent them a reply and explained that I will not be able to attend because I work during the day but that I have already done a great deal of research into the school and plan to apply.

They then sent me a fee waiver back in their email reply.

"You may have received a prior similar message in error. Our mail system erroneously sent out an incomplete email. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your attention."

Yeah, I'd love to try that with a similar typo on the application. "You may have received an application from me in error. My evil twin erroneously sent out an 'incomplete' app. Here is the one with 'Northeastern' instead of 'Law School Name Here.' Sorry about that."

I got the UVA fee waiver that everyone else got, and that is the only school I want to apply to that I currently have a fee waiver for. I am currently a sad panda.

I'm a little puzzled as to why people with lesser numbers got automatic fee waivers from these schools while I did not. Is it due to proactive yield protection or something like that?

I requested a fee waiver from them a few weeks back and they told me it was need-based only. And then today I got the "dear first name" e-mail today. I was considering applying for the scholarship money but it seems like a mess over there.

I am guessing the answer might differ from school to school. For instance, at the top end of the T14 (e.g., Chicago), I doubt it's a case of YP. More likely perhaps that they just think anyone with your numbers will likely be applying to schools like theirs, so why give you a fee waiver if you'll be applying anyway? Then, for the bottom part of the T14, I think it might well be a case of YP. In any case, I really sympathize with your situation, and I think it's complete BS. FWIW.

I took in June and emailed all of those (except Cornell). They all said no.

Eventually, I received CRS waivers from all but Georgetown. I dont know if September waivers are different, but don't give up hope!
