It's fine and pretty non-controversial (meaning that most people are fine with interracial dating).

Interesting topic. I'm in an interracial marriage, and you'd be surprised at how ridiculous people's reactions can be sometimes.

The only reaction that really bothered me when I dated interracially was after a breakup when my father made a racist "well, it was probably for the best" comment. If you are the white person (assuming one of you is white), please make sure not to veer into "white savior" territory. I think you know the tone I mean...
But other than that, it could be an interesting means of discussing race and privilege.
