Dude, completely scrap this. Just get to the point -- get rid of the first paragraph, your grandfather's history, the "dark shadow" stuff. Just say your sister was diagnosed with a serious mental illness, you had to transfer because of family obligations stemming from this, and it contributed to a low freshman GPA that is not indicative of your normal work. Once your sister returned to better health and you were able to concentrate on your studies, you achieved a GPA that better reflects your abilities.
