I believe there is something you can download that will run bootcamp like parallels, but you wouldn't have to have both bootcamp and parallels.

I could be wrong, but I thought I read it somewhere here on the forums, maybe in the Mac vs. PC thread or something?

Is it something you can just download? I thought it was software that had to be purchased I'm not a big fan of paying for things.

The guys at the SCU tech center told me its called VMware or something. They said it cost $40 but when I looked it up online I think I saw the download for $79.99...
It runs windows inside of the Mac OS. It was worth it to me for 40, but I dont know about 80. Although I have had the laptop here and all set up for a few hours and I do have to say that I would like being able to run Windows without having to shut down and start over.

But I LOVE my new computer. Seriously LOVE it.

And I'm now PISSED because the guys at SCU set up my computer and picked a password....and I'm pretty much locked out of a lot of stuff right now...and even though they say they are there til 10pm, they LIE!!! No one answers the phone!!!

try obvious stuff like your name, "santaclara", "scu", your student ID, macbook, etc.
Most tech people I know will use something like that as a default password when they set up something for someone else.

I've tried a lot but I think I'm going to have to wait til tomorrow when I have my other laptop which has all my scu info. But I swear I have tried everything!

Whooo! Grad PLUS loan is certified and my aid is showing up on e-campus. Guess it's not terribly big news, and I was never expecting to have problems with my loan, but any news or updates feel like a big deal to me.

I too am happy with my mac. The only thing I don't like about it is the look. I really want to paint it or cover it in stickers but I'm not sure if the other mac users will like that. They might ostracize me from the mac club.

How can we be SURE our financial aid is in place? Is it just at ecampus where the gradplus loan is?

heh yeah i had the same question. other than a letter, the only place that told me i have money is in the ecampus/financial aid section.
