It is a good question, and one that I do not have much an answer for.
I would suspect that this could end up varying quite a bit from school to school. It seems obvious that having hearing loss can cause obstacles in the traditional learning experience (I have minor hearing loss, but fortunately it has not had a large impact of my life or eduction). Given that it may be difficult to predict what level of impact your hearing loss may have on your cycle I would suggest casting a fairly wide net and see what shakes out.

Write a well-crafted DS explaining your problem without making is a sob story. I have a family member with bad hearing loss, so I can understand the frustration that accompanies it. I think a good DS will definitely add to your application. Be short and sweet. Good luck!
