Anybody receive an email from HUNAP?
I am applying this cycle and I recently received an unsolicited email from the Harvard University Native American Program (HUNAP) encouraging me to apply
. I know it likely doesn't mean much (meaning my chances of admission are likely not improved), but I was just curious as to how many of you out there also received this email.
I am well below their medians, but I do plan to apply.

I did too. I'm not applying because I'm 1/4 NA and don't really maintain any real cultural attachments so IDK if I'm really getting any URM bump.

I received from Harvard Admissions office. I wasn't really going to apply (167 & 3.87), but maybe I will now even though its probably an automatic reject.

I don't think you're an auto-reject at all!icouldbuyu wrote:I received from Harvard Admissions office. I wasn't really going to apply (167 & 3.87), but maybe I will now even though its probably an automatic reject.
unless your screenname is serious haha and then your PS must be terrible.

HAHA. My PS and DS are the strongest aspects of my application. I'm a really strong writer, so I was hoping that would help me out with my MVP apps. I'm probably just going to apply since I've already spent so much money on my other apps and LSAT prep materials, so spending another $100 isn't that big of a deal.

Yea, my numbers are similar to yours. I do have good softs--spent 3 years working for a well known education reform group, great LOR's (like everyone else
), and a compelling personal story.
I dunno, I could be an auto reject, but I couldn't allow myself to NOT take a shot at applying.

Ye same here. I ended up doing horribly on the SAT's, and I managed to get into a reach school because of my PS. So, maybe it'll happen again.

This is absolutely a possibility. NDN lawyers have a lot to contribute today, and law schools are being made more and more aware of this every year. A few T-6 schools are making some serious concerted efforts to attract Native lawyers this year.icouldbuyu wrote:BackToTheOldHouse wrote:Yea, my numbers are similar to yours (3.78 and 166). If you're NA, you're into HLS. Have fun.icouldbuyu wrote:I received from Harvard Admissions office. I wasn't really going to apply (167 & 3.87), but maybe I will now even though its probably an automatic reject.

I'm not NA, I'm not any URM. I said I received an email from the regular admissions office. I guess this confusion is why there was so much optimism. HAHArayiner wrote:If you're NA, you're into HLS. why did you start posting here then? lol
this is about HUNAP emails. That would be a Native American organization lol.
Oh well. Good luck anyways. 167 probably will bar you from HYS though :/

HAHA, my mistake, I was wondering why so many people were optimistic. I was expecting some nasty remarks from TLSs0ph1e2007 wrote:haha WHAT?icouldbuyu wrote:I'm not NA, I'm not any URM.
