When Justice Stevens is replaced, will Northwestern drop? Forum

According to this NYT article http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/26/us/26bar.html Justice Stevens is retiring at the end of the term. Since he is a graduate of Northwestern and presumably accepts NW grads as clerks, will the school drop in the rankings when he retires? Same with Columbia vis-a-vis Ginsburg?

The only reason I'm going to NU is because of Stevens. I'm sure at least half the class feels that way.

I'm not really sure, but I suppose if clerkship placement stats drop because they no longer get any supreme court clerks, their peer assessment scores could potentially drop?

Yeah, I mean Northwestern is basically Cooley, they just got lucky with a judge.

At this point I think Stevens dying would just be free publicity for the LS to be mentioned in every obit.

+1 NW gets other SCOTUS justices in there. Anthony Kennedy takes in just as many as Justice Stevens these days. Stevens really doesn't take an overwhelming amount. He used to take more in previous decades, so I don't really see his retirement affecting things to that great a degree.
